After serving as CEO and President for nearly five years, Dr. Carol Brunson Day will pass the baton of leadership over to Dr. Felicia DeHaney, who comes to NBCDI after serving as the Interim Assistant Superintendent for Early Childhood Education and Director of School Preparedness for the District of Columbia’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education. No stranger to NBCDI having served as Project Director for the Kellogg Foundation funded program Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids (SPARK) from 2006

We were honored and delighted to have been joined by so many of our supporters and friends during our 40th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, April 7, 2011!  A special thank you to our fantastic Representatives Bobby Scott and Sheila Jackson Lee, both of whom spoke beautifully about the challenges and successes we are experiencing, and the work NBCDI has done to support Black children and families.  Thank you as well to the  Davey Yarborough Jazz Ensemble, vocalist Esther Williams, and Dr.
